Wedding Spotlight: Vy & Sean

Old Government House Ceremony & QAGOMA Watermall Reception

Some weddings feel effortlessly timeless. Vy and Sean’s celebration was exactly that - elegant, intentional and quietly powerful, set across two of Brisbane’s most iconic cultural spaces.

From a classic garden ceremony at Old Government House to a modern, art-filled reception at QAGOMA’s Watermall, this day was a beautiful study in contrast, balance and refined simplicity.

The Ceremony

Old Government House, Brisbane

Old Government House is one of Brisbane’s most treasured heritage venues, and it set the tone perfectly for Vy and Sean’s ceremony. The sandstone façade, arched walkways and manicured grounds offered a sense of grandeur without ever feeling overdone.

We designed the ceremony florals to feel timeless and architectural - soft white blooms layered with texture and movement, framing the historic archway and lining the aisle with restrained elegance. The aim was to enhance the setting, not compete with it, allowing the venue’s heritage beauty to remain front and centre.

This was classic Brisbane at its best: calm, refined and deeply romantic.

Bridal Florals

Clean, Classic and Considered

Vy’s bouquet was intentionally simple and sculptural - a monochromatic palette of white florals with soft variation in shape and texture. Paired with her gown, it felt modern yet timeless, echoing the understated elegance of the ceremony space.

For the bridal party, elegant bouquets of reflexed Playa Blanca roses created a cohesive look that photographed beautifully against the greenery of the grounds and the stone architecture of Old Government House.

The Reception

QAGOMA Watermall

Transitioning from heritage to contemporary, the celebration continued at the QAGOMA Watermall - a space that feels modern, immersive and quietly dramatic.

Set alongside the water and surrounded by art, the reception design leaned into restraint and intention. Long tables were styled simply, allowing the architecture, reflections and artworks to set the mood. Florals were minimal yet impactful, designed to complement the space rather than overpower it.

As the evening unfolded, the Watermall transformed into something truly special - intimate, atmospheric and unmistakably Brisbane.

A Perfect Balance

What made Vy and Sean’s wedding so memorable was the way everything worked together so seamlessly. Two very different venues, united by a shared design language: refined, thoughtful and timeless.

This was a celebration that didn’t chase trends - it trusted simplicity, quality and intention. The result was a wedding that feels just as beautiful now as it will decades from now.
