How We Keep Your Wedding Bouquets Fresh All Day in the South East Queensland Heat
Let’s be honest - weddings in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Scenic Rim are chef’s kiss beautiful.
Sun-soaked, bright, a little steamy (in both the weather and the romance). But that glorious subtropical heat? Yeah… she’s not exactly the best friend of delicate petals.
That’s where we come in.
As your florists, one of our biggest jobs is making sure your bouquet looks fresh, flawless, and fabulous from studio to ceremony - and well into dance-floor o’clock.
Here’s your behind-the-scenes peek at exactly how we keep your blooms thriving in the Queensland warmth, plus a few easy tips to help you love them even longer.

Premium Blooms Only — Because Quality Always Shows
The secret to long-lasting bouquets starts long before your wedding morning.
We hand-select premium flowers from growers who know their stuff - growers who understand the subtropical drama that is Queensland weather.
Premium blooms are:
Stronger
Better hydrated
More resilient
And honestly… they just look prettier
They open beautifully, hold their shape all day, and photograph like absolute supermodels. Every single flower that makes it into your bouquet has been checked, fussed over, and approved before it earns its place.
Refrigeration = Freshness (AKA The Flower Spa)
Your flowers are pampered in our studio refrigeration right up until they leave us. Once we pick up your premium blooms at the markets on a Thursday morning, we carefully condition each bloom before storing them safely in our special flower fridges ready for your wedding day. This slows their ageing, boosts hydration, and keeps them crisp and vibrant - without the too-cold shock that household fridges can give.
Think of it as a mini day spa for your bouquet.
Bouquets Travel in Water - Always
Once we’ve tied your bouquet into its final dreamy shape, it goes straight into a hydration box.
Inside the box:
Your stems sit upright in a hidden water source
Tissue and padding keep everything snug and bruise-free
Shade + airflow keep blooms cool on the trip
Your flowers stay drinking right up until they're in your hands
This is why your bouquet still looks perky hours later during portraits, ceremony, and beyond.

How You Can Help Keep Your Bouquet Fresh
You don’t need to be a florist - just keep these easy tips in mind:
1. Keep Your Bouquet in Water Until You Need It
Your hydration box is your bouquet’s little sanctuary. Only lift it out right before photos or leaving for the ceremony.
2. Avoid Direct Sunlight
Even five minutes in the Queensland sun can make soft petals wilt. Shade is your best friend.
3. Hold From the Stems, Not the Blooms
Petals are sensitive - handling them transfers heat and can bruise them. Always grab the ribboned stems.
4. Don’t Lay It Face-Down
Bouquets need to stay upright to keep their shape. A vase or the hydration box works perfectly during breaks.
5. Ask Your Photographer for Flower Breaks
During longer shoots, pop your bouquet back into water between locations or poses.
6. Keep It Cool in the Car
If you’re travelling between spots, crank that air-con. Your flowers will thank you!
The Result? Flowers That Last From First Look to Last Dance
